I’m told I’ve been approved by the HC. Wondering what kind of comp I should be expecting or should negotiate for. I have about 7 years of experience. Base salary range recruiter told me we’re lower than I expected, but don’t have experience with big company equity and bonus packages. Also curious if people have experience with Google satellite offices and pros/cons with that. Thanks!
TC should be around 240-270k. Base 140-170k, bonus 15%, equity 70-90k a year.
Is LA pay lower than SF?
What was the range the recruiter told you? Do you have competing offers?
Added a comment below by accident instead of responding. No competing offer per se but currently employed at around 150 plus equity
Recruiter kept thing general but said base could be in the 120s with TC anywhere from 160 or higher. This is slightly lower than I was expecting, and WAY lower than what Milk Steak suggested above
That is quite low for your years of experience. Even looking at comps for a Senior Interaction Designer in LA (or what I use as a comp Senior UX) on Glassdoor, which tends to index low. I can’t imagine that’s right, unless it’s an external recruiter
That's the exact offer I received as a 2.5yoe, in Bay Area though
Yah I’d believe that Bay Area salaries are higher. LA is still pricey, high tax, etc, still not as bad as SF tho

Google CFO confirms 'large-scale' layoffs (Apr 17)
What is your expectation?
I’ve had baseline salaries or offers between 140-150 recently, with equity at non IPO companies. Google appears to have lower base salaries but bonuses and stock. Looking for advice on the transition/translation
