Moving from Boston with 2 years experience Base : 160k RSUs : 310k Target Bonus : 15% Sign on bonus : 25k Location : Bay Area Feedback?
Good !!
Yep, looks pretty decent for an L4 SWE. May be you can ask for more on sign up though.
Too good for your yoe
Good offer.
Very good offer considering YOE! Enjoy the awesome weather.
Decent TC. The sign on bonus can go up by 10k, otherwise it is pretty much top notch. But L4 with just 2 years of experience is strange (awesome, but very uncommon). Mind telling how did you approach it. Did you get a referral to L4 or was it during the interview process that they decided to bump you up?
It was decided during the interview process.
Recruiters usually don't reveal the level... Curious how you know the offer is for an L4?
Out of curiosity. When someone applies (direct or through referral), are the candidates unaware of the level that they are applying (being considered) for? Is it only during the interview that the level is determined by the interviewers?
I am not OP. But in my case with Google, I asked level just after HC and the recruiter told.
I think this is around 250k TC, which is median L4. But given your YoE I think this is good. You can probably negotiate for more if your interview performance was strong. Re: knowing what level you're applying for, I was up front and made sure with my recruiter multiple times that I was being interviewed for L4 before my onsite (3 YoE). Asking after your onsite would require further interviews if you want to level up I believe.
