I’m applying as an Associate Account Strategist so any insight into the pros/cons of the two would be really helpful!
Right, I was making a MV:SF and AA:Detroit analogy. I have to say, when it comes to culture, Ann Arbor is miles ahead of anything MV can offer!
Can you elaborate on the Ann Arbor culture?
Ann Arbor is great
Ann Arbor is an amazing place but it's a little like being on an island. Michigan as a whole is a bit underrated...but I never enjoyed the 9 months of winter. MV itself is a small town with not much to do, but u are surrounded by endless things to do AND the weather is great. Still get seasons but they are all relatively mild.
Ann Arbor sucks. 31-20
How ambitious are you? Being not in MTV will always make advancing more difficult. Not impossible until you reach high level, but always more difficult.
I know a lot about this role. Feel free to reach out
That role doesn’t pay much. You’ll earn less in AA but that money there will go farther towards housing and savings
The Bay Area is the one place you can make a lot of money and still live poor...300k in Ann Arbor gets you a non-cookie cutter house in a beautiful area. 300k in Bay Area gets you a closet in a shitty neighborhood. Comes down to QOL and what you believe to be important in your life. The great thing about Ann Arbor is you can always go back (same can't be said about bay area) - come to MTV, spend a few years, and move back to Ann Arbor when you like. Having silicon Valley on your resume won't hurt, and you have a very good chance of discovering other amazing opportunities.

Depends if you like to hang out in the city or not. No, detroit is not a city.
And Ann Arbor is not Detroit either. Especially in the middle of the winter when the blizzard blows and roads are closed.
There’s no such thing as closed roads in Michigan . You drive blizzard or hail, overturned semi on the turnpike, gasoline fire or angry wild turkeys.
