Assuming the comp. is calibrated to the area, is it better to stay in Seattle or move to MV considering the big picture? In my mid 20s now, so will probably buy a house, start a family soon enough.
Depends on the team, find out where the senior manager/director/majority of team sits, that helps in visibility. On personal front, I personally think kir is best.
Seattle is the new Bay Area. It's only going to grow and you will profit as it does. If you were in LA I'd have recommended that you move to the Bay Area.
Why? Saves time getting a different driver's license?
Seattle
Seattle Eastside aka Kirkland
Why
Because for tech people with families it’s pretty much better than Bay area in any aspect: similarly hot tech scene with MS and Amazon HQs, and G with FB on the back yard, bunch of smaller companies (Expedia, Zillow, Valve, etc), same salaries, no state tax, cheaper housing, evergreen nature. The only issue is drizzle 7 months a year, which you can technically escape by scheduling business trips to CA and vacations in winter, or just drive 45mins to mountains with abundant snow.
