Google Onsite Cleared. M fcked?
Google HR called and informed that she will be moving my packet to HC. In my resume, I listed myself as SDE-3 at Amazon though my promotion didn't happen this quarter. Would Google ask me about proof of my title at Amazon? Should I tell the recruiter that I am in fact SDE-2? TC: 300k Exp: 11 years (2 at Amazon)
Probably no one cares about your previous title at this point. Wait for the offer and consider your next steps, mentioning your title in amazon shouldn't be one of them.

They should not be saying that.
Any issues you get would be during background check. Background checks are sort of general across companies and usually done by 3rd party companies. So I think the better q to ask is whether Amazon divulges your level at leaving time. And whether background check companies query for such info. And if G treats any such discrepancy seriously.

They generally don’t check levels before giving the offer. Offer is mostly based on your interview and yoe. Background check afaik checks only if you worked at a place( no levels or teams check). In my case I worked at a startup that doesn’t exist anymore so I was asked if I can give them a paystub as a proof. You should be good. Congratulations! 😁

The background check folks will verify your title. If you claim SDE2 at some point now, they will confirm it as such. Your best bet is to try and remember all your post conversations about your level and see if you have a chance to correct the genuine mistake. SDE 2 should be fine for level 4-5. Not for level 6.
