I had my phone interview with a PM 2 weeks ago and the recruiter reached out & told me I am not making it to the onsite interview. He told me to take the interview again in the next 12-18 months window. Without reapplying to the position. Is this normal for the recruiter say? I definitely want to be a PM @ Google and this was my first time interviewing. I wish I had more time to prep for the interview but I didn’t. I’m grateful they are giving me another chance to take the interview but just wanted to know if this is a normal process at Google for PM
Normal
Thanks!
You can interview every 12 months as many times as you'd like
Thank you!!
Do you have to phone screen again the following year if you were rejected onsite?
I’m a PM at Google. This is normal, try reaching out after 6 months but only if you think you’ve improved significantly
Yeah I was wondering if I can reach out before 12 months - you answered my question :) thank you! Yes planning to prep the next 6 months and reach back out.
Another Google PM here. Yep, it's totally cool to reach out sooner. Like xtFP08 said, you got to improve significantly. Take your time to prep. Good luck!
I am a software engineer with almost 7 YOE, and I am interested in product management role, but don’t have experience in PM. Can I apply PM roles at google?
Apply for APM (rotational, intro level)
Isn’t it for for new grads only?

Is it cheaper to eat chipotle everyday than buy groceries ?
Yes. It is. Most likely they would reach out to you in one year, if not, you can reach out to the same recruiter. DM for more details
Thank you!
