What kind of questions are asked in program manager interview at google. Technical or non technical?
Examples please
Behavioral/hypothetical: - “How did you deal with a conflict in your team?” - “What was the most impactful project you have ever did and why?” - “How would you motivate people to work with you on a project”
I found the tips in "cracking the PM interview" very helpful . Some sections are mostly for product management obviously, but the general tips served me well. For example, have a handful of 3-5 minute stories ready to go for the behavioral questions (tell me about a time when X).
I always ask about how you handle difficult people. Even if you know the questions on advance, it won't help you. You can't find these answers in a book
I had someone get really impatient when interviewing me at Google; kept interrupting. I had so many people tell me not to be high level, she seemed to just want really basic, high-level answers. Threw me off. I wasn’t exactly sure of the intent of the style. It seemed quite badgering. The other interviews were really pleasant experiences.
Hypothetical project/team situations. Specific, challenging situations from your cv (how did you deal with conflict and this sort of things). Additionally some role related questions.
