Google SF/NYC/Zurich -> LA paycut

Jul 18 21 Comments

Can't find the answer for the question above, did you relocate from SF/NYC/Zurich to Los Angeles Google office? How big (%) was the paycut?

I'm quite new at L4 level and wanna make the move sometime next year.

Thanks in advance for the help, you can also message me if you're not comfortable sharing it in the comment

EDIT: probably 10% MTV to LA, someone has experience with Zurich to LA? :)

      They also won’t tell you the new comp until you have a concrete offer from the new location.

    It’s 10% from MTV to LA. Which sucks bc Venice is just as expensive as MTV.

      Yeah it's not about money in my case, it can be expensive, in LA I'd choose Venice/Playa Vista/SM anyways - I don't want traffic, I'm planning to bike to work.
      If I were about money I'd stay in Zurich, cause here taxes are low, rent is cheaper and better quality, don't have to have a car (it's basically stupid to own a car in Switzerland) plus so many paid days off, holidays etc, but there is one thing...it's so boring :D And the weather is not really for me. Just wanna know If I can do LA with my paycut especially when we think about a child.
