Got through TPM interview at Google and the next step is to start team matching before HC, offer etc. The recruiter says the openings during Oct to Dec are not that many. Any input, personal experience on how long this can drag?
Can u DM me please.
Depends. Seen one as fast as 3 months to as long as 6months. Not thru me but friend.
Also from G recruiter insight. Abt 3 to 6months
(Xoogler) Most teams try to fill headcount as soon as they have it. It's not typical to get new headcount before the end of the year, due to the planning cycle. Teams may be able to borrow against the following year allocation if they are high business priority roles. I'd wager you are either picked up in October by random luck or not until after the new year when teams get their new allocation.
Thanks !
@op: So the question becomes, does priority fall under ‘top business priority’ bucket for the team/product at this time you’ve interviewed at?
Tc?
TPM = Technical Product Manager?
Hey congrats on making it to HC! Can I DM you?
I’m in similar boat: TPM in Bay Area as well. Did phone screening and on-site in late summer, recruiter stating I did well and that he’s very confident with HC. But first team match. But I feel I’ve been stuck in this holding pattern since then, no word on progress?
Similar situation. Ok from HC at the end of August for Pgm instead of the TPM I interviewed for. In team match still.
Cool, did you talk to a few potential hiring managers yet ?
Has 3 team show interest, turn down one because it’s in Texas. One team went with someone else, one team said they are “seriously interested in going forward” according to the recruiter and then leave me hanging for 2 weeks and then they went to a internal candidate.
