Did my on-site last Friday, recruiter told me yesterday she will submit my packet to the hiring committee, said I had a good chance. However, she wants me to team match and get a statement of support from a manager before my packet is sent to the hiring committee. Does this mean my interview results aren't that strong? How long does it take to team match usually?
This does not mean you will get an offer. This happened to a friend of mine and he got rejected. This generally means that your interview results are good but not excellent, and the support from a manager will theoretically help push the HC to overlook any weaknesses. I think your chances are 50/50 at this point.
Nice, I had team matching before HC. I got selected. At Google you're looking at SW/hw? Yoe? Level?
hey do you mind sharing how long it took for you from got matched to hear back from HC?
How does team match work in this scenario? Is it like behavioral round for candidates?
I was in similar situation(about a month ago). My interview was mixed i.e i had totally crushed it in 2, ok-ok in 2 and bombed 1.. recruiter tried to team match me for ~2 weeks but teams were too choosy(especically because in this case, they have to vouch for me to sway HC decision) .. eventually recruiter put me in HC without team match and got rejected eventually because interview performance was mixed.. so yes... team match "might" help you in case feedback is mixed..
Yes. This probably means that you got mixed results. The statement of support is a way to try to counter that.
“Statement of support from a manager” — a Google hiring manager, or are they asking for a reference from your prior work experience?
No, that's the process, don't worry. They need a team and a department to give u an offer. Congrats!
