Folks lot is written about TSC's but I just have some basic questions (phone and onsite done with G) going to hiring committee. 15 years at Qualcomm (total 20) and TC:300+ dev lead (no longer code). I know how much time was wasted at Q but let's keep that aside 😟 My questions are 1. Is it worth doing TSC role? I know it is considered lower from different aspects and somehow I felt interviews were too basic and easy. 2. I have not discussed any levels with recruiter but she know what I make so any idea what to expect? I am thinking of passing if it is too low ball in title but opinions welcome 3. I have another thing in progress with Magic Leap so any comparisons? Magic leap role is dev and overall program lead. Cannot add much details
Thanks
If TC is > 15% in the first 2 years, *and* you see a careeer path inside or outside G after 2 years, it's worth it. Don't go only for name and just TC. While you can be proud you got in, you will not be happy in a year or two. Good luck...
Thanks. Let me wait for the TC from both and see if TC makes a decision easier

If you want to be a SWE dont bother
Thanks, the only thing which comes to my mind is whether there is any advantage of Google on the resume otherwise Magic leap seems very attractive (not sure how much they will offer)
As SWE or SRE, yes. A TSC not much. Beside SWE and SRE only join G if you truly love the role, not using it like a resume/backdoor to SWE. Good luck :)
