I’ve applied for a SWE L3 role at Mountain View, and already passed HC as a strong hire.
Unfortunately my HR missed the H1B application deadline (don’t ask me how/why tho) and now he is offering a similar position at Zurich office.
The problem is: he mentioned that we can only start the process there around September (visa + team matching) mainly because there are no open positions... And my start date will be in December :-(
I have other offers lined up and this wait time is just too much.
I’m wondering if someone had a similar situation and if you really believe that Zurich office have no open positions (I’m questioning everything that my HR says now)
- Nutanix ridjiThey really don't have many opened positions in Zurich. I've spent months waiting for team match there, and ended up with an offer for Warsaw office.
- It is ~2200 usd net per month (8500 pln). I don't know how stocks are taxed, I guess by a similar margin. According to the recruiter, it should be easy to move to another location after a year or two. But I didn't accept, the offer is too low and Warsaw is not an option for my family, I'd rather wait one year and try again even if I have to interview again (which I probably don't).Jun 20 1
- They grow like crazy here so much they can't cram all the people they want into the office spaces here. Just today they announced one of the nicer MKs here is closing to be "temporarily" converted to desk spaces for interns, lol
Probably the wait is for new office buildings being constructed at Europaallee to come online
- Wouldn't know any more that what's publicly known, google europallee. Looks like building F is getting completed this summer that's probably it, and then another building in 2020. Add a month or two for them to do interior decor and that'd be my best guess as to when new office space will be availableApr 15 1
