Hey guys, I’ve applied for a SWE L3 role at Mountain View, and already passed HC as a strong hire. Unfortunately my HR missed the H1B application deadline (don’t ask me how/why tho) and now he is offering a similar position at Zurich office. The problem is: he mentioned that we can only start the process there around September (visa + team matching) mainly because there are no open positions... And my start date will be in December :-( I have other offers lined up and this wait time is just too much. I’m wondering if someone had a similar situation and if you really believe that Zurich office have no open positions (I’m questioning everything that my HR says now)
They grow like crazy here so much they can't cram all the people they want into the office spaces here. Just today they announced one of the nicer MKs here is closing to be "temporarily" converted to desk spaces for interns, lol Probably the wait is for new office buildings being constructed at Europaallee to come online

Not sure if this helps but Google Munich is hiring like crazy this year. Expect lower TC than ZRH though
They really don't have many opened positions in Zurich. I've spent months waiting for team match there, and ended up with an offer for Warsaw office.

Did you take the offer in Warsaw? The pay must be very low there
