This is not good. Most developed countries provide 60-80 weeks of maternity. Please do better
Doesn’t Netflix give you a year for first child that’s like 52 weeks so kind of close to op suggestion
Just shut Google down tbh
Would love to see google destroyed from the inside by diversity hires.
Really? A pregnant woman count as a “diversity hire” to you?
60-80 weeks is a lot. I’m curious. What happens if an employee has a second child? Does it extend to 120-160 weeks in general?
Tbh it should be more for the second child. That’s more work than the first one.
Should there be a requirement to work between children are do you believe employers should be on the hook for 3+ years?
Curious what other companies in the States provide more than 50 weeks.
Does it matter? Tech companies should lead by example and 60-80 weeks is barely enough time for recovery
Where are you coming up with this idea that 60-80 weeks is "barely enough time to recover"? My wife has had two kids and it does not take that long to physically recover from natural delivery. General guidance is no sex for 6-8 weeks after delivery. After that you're mostly recovered and good to go. Maybe another month for some, but not 60 weeks. Where are you getting that number from?
60-80 weeks is incorrect . What country does this? https://www.insider.com/maternity-leave-around-the-world-2018-5#belgium-15-weeks-3
Denmark: four weeks before the birth and 14 weeks after, all at full pay. During the 14-week period, the father can also take two consecutive weeks off. From that point on, parents can split 32 additional weeks of leave however they see fit. They can extend the leave for another 14 weeks if the child or parent gets sick. By law, the government covers 52 weeks of pay, though not always at the full salary.
Ok, so that takes it up to 64 if they don’t share
If people demand maternity/paternity leaves then should companies make it mandatory some years of work after leaves before a person can switch companies?
Why? That’s an earned benefit and has a company can’t force you to keep working for them. Also a company wouldn’t want to do it since then the employee’s work output is going to be low anyway
I am not sure how that is earned benefit. Some company give it on very first day some after 12 months. The reason i am asking for some mandatory work is that company gave you leaves to handle your person life so should company not get some thing back in return?
Don't feed the communist troll.
He’s actually a Trump troll. Went insane it seems.
You're a bit high. Only 2 countries have over 60 weeks. A few more hover in the 50 week range. Most are well under 40. The US is backwards in this regard, though.
Ok
