With Amazon's new HQ in Virginia will others join?
Google already has the biggest office space in NYC. They occupy an entire block in downtown NYC but they are mostly renting it out for now. Amazon HQ2 is a scam. They are just opening a couple of more offices.

Google has something like 6000 employees in NYC already and I heard they were already planning to double that before Amazons announcement.
NYC is 4 hrs from VA though 😢
Well, there are companies that just get the work done without playing the drums and then there's Amazon who plays the drums to get attention.

Google owns a ton of real estate here for DC expansion. They have an office in Reston and DC.
What’s so special about the burbs here. Why does NYC get all the shiny downtown offices but DC doesn’t 😢
DC has laws limiting the height of buildings in the area which make it impossible to have high rises and make for higher real estate. That’s one reason why NYC is getting more stuff than us.

Yeah it's for PR though. I think it only has too. For around 20-30 employees
