I've been on blind for about 2 months and I've never seen even one post/comment from Google employees complaining about their job/company/wlb/etc. Is Google really such a heaven, or is it just blind sample space and data quality issue?
Yep it’s heaven
Free food. Free shuttle. Free gym. Open culture. Also people are mostly nice. There is not much to complain really.
How about actual work. All my googler friends are competing hard to get to do good quality work. Team specific but I heard it consistently from 5-6 guys. They have phds and doing mundane bug fixes. Genuine question.
I have seen many Googler complaints on Blind. Sure, not as many as Amazon, but they are there. Mostly about smart people doing grunt work, boredom, and difficulty of promos. Obviously, Google treats employees well so they aren't going to bitch about WLB or abusive managers like Amazonians do. Pick your poison.
It's a very non-offensive company. Overall very good. Mountain View sucks though lol
What's so bad about MTV? I'm there right now and starting to feel a bit bad about my newly bought home around Seattle.
By itself, it's not that bad. It doesn't have the culture that other tech hubs like SF and NYC have, and it's a lot more expensive than a more comparable city like Boulder, CO. What do you see in Mountain View that you like so far? I actually wish I could talk myself into moving there to avoid the commute.
There are bad things about Google, but we know that almost everyone else has it worse. No point in complaining.

Or you do not have access to Google only threads?
It doesn't really matter. You may get more complaints if you have access to Google threads, but having not even one negative post/comment in the public posts is still a strong data point.
And for some reason everyone here has access to Amazon only threads and can see all the bashing 😂😂
