Google hiring committee

I’m interviewing w/ Google for a SETI position and HR told me it’s going to hiring committee. My questions are: 1. Would the result of the phone interview (I had one b4 the onsite) be sent to the HC as well? 2. I think I didn’t do very well in one of the 5 onsite rounds, but things were good in the other rounds. How would this play out in the HC?

I am assuming for SETI , it is similar to the regular sw track? So leetcodes med/ hard is good enough OP? How was yours?

Yeah just focus on internal tooling, SWE s are SETI’s clients. Yeah pretty standard, mostly med, a pinch of hard

Phone interview is kept separate from HC except when it is borderline. One bad signal will not sink you if you have 4 good or great signals generally (as long as the bad signal is "wasnt able to complete code" and not "called the interviewer names")

Thanks for the reply! I completed the code but I feel like I’m missing few points in terms of explaining my algorithm ..

vqsx26 If you couldn’t complete code in one around (bombed badly) but did well in all rounds, will it sink a candidate?

I got a no hire in a round where I completed the code but didn't reach an optimal solution and had a hard time seeing the hint my interviewer gave. Would that normally be a leaning no hire or straight up hire?

The feedback of the interviewer depend on multiple factors. Even if you didn’t reach the optimal solution, if your communication is clear and on point, and your proposed test cases are well-thought of and thorough, the interviewer won’t give you a bad score
