Folks, Had a Google on-site 9/13 (Friday) for a product manager role at the hardware team. Looped for L6. Followed up with the recruiter and he said they hope to give me an update in 1-2 weeks. He didn’t mentioned anything about compensation nor HC. I have looked through all posts here in Blind and know that Google is slow in general. But particularly, I am trying to understand 1) are they interviewing other candidates? 2) do recruiters submit directly to HC without notifying candidates? Wonder if my packet went to HC but the recruiter didn’t ask nor tell me anything YOE: 12 TC: 365K Thanks for any insights!
I interviewed the same day and my recruiter said the same thing. He said offer discussions happen on an average of 1-2 weeks. He said he would update me once he hears something. Haven’t heard a thing yet. Hiring manager did say they had 2 more candidates to interview this week though when we were chatting during the interview.
Thanks. This confirms my belief that they are interviewing other candidates. I heard at some firms (like Amazon), they are only allowed to do one candidate for onsite at a given time. If they need to do an on-site for another candidate, they need to clearly decline the previous candidate first.
Hmmn. I guess it’s different for non engineering interviews. Just weird that recruiter did not mention HC at all. How do you think the interview went?
Wondering if you could elaborate further on the questions during the interview
What ended up happening?
You must be new here, Google is notorious for being slow during the hiring process. That being said, it won't be as slow as you guys trying to find another successful game after LoL.
Don’t disagree. :p I do know google is slow but my particular questions were about interviewing other candidates and HC
