Currently at Microsoft, level 62. 4 YoE. Base is 145 making expected TC = 145 + 14.5 + 11 = 170. Usually been getting max rewards so if going with previous experiences I would get 145 + 29 + 22 = 196. This isn't including SSA. If the continue to do those I would make between 220-246. But, it is unknown if those can be counted on for future years. I got offer from Google L4 for: base: 150 stocks: 235k / 4 years Expected bonus = 23k sign on = 30k. First year TC = 261k, others 231k. This is definitely more than I make now, but not considerably more, considering I will probably hit 63 this year. Is this a lowball offer? Seems like it to me. I asked recruiter if they can get to 250k recurring TC. Maybe I messed up my math but with 1 promo and SSA I would end up making more at Microsoft.
Is this bay area or Seattle?
How can it be lowball if you are getting an increment? Jesus Christ.
Lol
Wait what ?? Of course it's a lowball. It's not because your ex employer lowballed you that the next one should also
Not low-ball
My L4 was significantly higher but that doesn’t mean yours is a lowball. I had leverage. Given what your making now and assuming you didn’t kill the interviews, your offer seems legit.
This guy didn’t even make 63 yet but talks as if it’s in the bag. Dude, good luck on that 63. MS is really picky on promoting 63.
You'll get additional $70k - $90k stock refreshes as L4 every year vesting over 4 years (starting in year 2). Your TC will be much higher at Google as L4.
For Kirkland it is good.
Goog knows that people will accept their "low-ball" offers, and until people start declining , they won't be raising
Plenty of people decline. The recruiters get even more persistent once you decline an offer.
Listen to @Jwjz80's advise
Kiddo - you will hate my advise. But don’t fret $$s, go where your heart tells you to — both MSFT and GOOG have equally neurotic swappable nerds ... 🤓
