It sounds like Google always lowballs these days and only negotiates if there are competing offers. Why would I accept offer from Google if it is below my current TC? I interviewed twice and I rejected an offer 1st time around because G didn't want to much my TC for L5, and 2nd time around the same BS for L6... Does G like to waste everyone's time - candidate and interviewers? TC: $325 (L6, non-tech) YOE: 15
325 is a lot
325 is not a lot for G L6
It is a lot for non tech at L6. There is 4 years worth of data submitted by tens of thousands of employees
Is your TC just from stock appreciation? If so, that's awesome that you have done so well, but you timing the market effectively doesn't make you more valuable to Google... I would say, in general, Google pays top tier, but they don't throw money around recklessly just because they can. They still have bands relative to role, level, and location, and they won't necessarily try to win every single bidding war.
Yes and No, base is $160K and stock is $165K. I was TT for last 3 years and got 20% raise last year. So yes, it is stock, but No I worked hard to earn it
$160k base for L6? That is really low even for non-tech roles. At Facebook L6 is fore sure over $200k. Come to Facebook if you care about pay and levels
Google didn't match my Albertsons offer ;-)
Google is going to destroy itself by it's arrogance.
Google wasted my time with a lowball and down level.
