I told the recruiter that I'd do whiteboard but now that I think about it I wonder if there's any correlation between the method you code (whiteboard or Chromebook) and success in getting an offer? If there is then we should be picking the better method. Anyone has any insights/thoughts on this? Maybe we can just gather data here in blind? :p
Whiteboard. Chromebook may need some time to set up depending on who used it last.
Just setting it up. But don’t underestimate it. Interview is only 45 minutes. I found that candidates need about 5 minutes to set up their Chromebooks to how they like it. That’s 5 minutes that could have been used solving problems. 5 mins of set up 5 mins of intro 10 mins of talking about the problem 5 mins at the end to ask me questions That only leaves you 25 minutes of actual coding and follow ups.
I was way more comfortable with the chrome book just because I can type faster. Though in my interviews I usually sketched out some examples and stuff on the board but wrote my code on the laptop
I didn’t even know this was an option .. going to ask my recruiter for this . I would prefer chrome book .. my handwriting is horrible
Thank you.
Interviewer preferred to use whiteboard even I explicitly asked for laptop. Communication/ trying example is way more easy in whiteboard. Practice whiteboard as you must be very good with laptop already.
How is your hand writing?
Pretty decent.
Then whiteboarding should be fine
I think on whiteboard and type on Chromebook

Is there any point to buying LinkedIn premium other than to see who viewed your profile?
Chromebook is way better, just be sure to practice both because some rooms may not have a Chromebook available. I practiced for Chromebook coding by using a text editor with no syntax highlighting or autocomplete, and in my onsite it felt amazing typing out solutions in half the time it would take me on a whiteboard where it'd also be way messier, having to deal with erasing, etc. This is all assuming you're a decent typist as well.
