I just did my Google on-site on Friday, I know it was the weekend/holidays coming up now but how long does it usually take to hear back? Will the recruiter reach out to me once he gets interviewer feedback or am I waiting all the way until HC makes a decision if it goes there? I know it's not even been 1 business day, but I was just curious.
Ask your recruiter. Send a friendly follow up email asking about next steps.
They take forever
How was the interview? Can you share some info on that? Have an onsite on wednesday
Honestly I'd be surprised if I didnt get an offer, but you never know with Google so I'm trying to keep my expectations tempered. The interview was very "fun" in the sense that I wasnt really stressed at all I just went in and had discussions around the problems with each interviewer. I white boarded my thoughts, discussed time complexities and then hammered out my code on a ChromeBook. The Googlyness & Leadership interview was great because I got to share a lot about my thoughts on leadership/personal philosophy/why I do what I do. Definitely recommend asking for a ChromeBook, interviewers appreciate it because it means they have to take less notes in terms of rewriting your code on their laptop. Problems were mainly string manipulation, binary trees, and a custom data structure. It was a solid experience all around. What location are you going for?
wait what? You can code on Laptop? I did my whole interview on whiteboard. I didnโt know I can ask for their laptop
Most interviewers have fill feedback in 3-4 days. Your recruiter will collect the feedback packets and decide if it has a chance in the HC. HC meetings usually happen once a week. You'll know if your packet is going to the HC or not from your recruiter. Sometimes recruiters ask for references as well. Interview to HC - 1 week HC stage - 1 week
Oh ok I see, so with holidays I'm really looking at 2 weeks or so even for the interview to hiring committee. Dammit lol but it gives me some time to get competing offers with MSFT and AMZN on sites coming up.
A week at best so two in your case
Yea that's what I'm thinking now with holidays. Makes sense.
I interviewed someone on Friday, but I'm off this week, so they won't get their feedback until next Monday

Tipping culture is really getting out of control! Waiter gave me โa lookโ because I tipped her 10% for โBAD service!โ
Are most googlers taking the week off btw? I'm expecting that cuts into it too.
