Is there any advantage of choosing one over the other? If I feel confident about clearing both of these, which one should I go for?
I chose domain because I did my PhD in that domain
Did it give you an advantage during the process?
I don't exactly know. But I would like to believe so. I mean a lot of people can do leetcode things better than me. But few are better than me in that domain. I had a very great chat with my interviewer. I have read his paper before and he knows mine. I think it makes me stand out among average interviewees
What all domains are available to choose? If anyone know can someone list them.
Based on my observation as an interviewer, domain rounds are generally easier to pass, but that means you have less number (1-2) of coding rounds, and coding feedback has veto weight.
Can you tell the domain names? How is it different then system design?
So if I'm good at coding skills, I should probably take the coding one, right? I'm leaning towards coding, I'm looking for validation for my decision. I would consider domain if that has more weight towards deciding levels. I'm aiming for L5 as a 6 year yoe, so I want to give enough data points for L5. Not sure if domain would mean more or not.
I think Domain is easier to impress the interviewers, hence easier.
Domain.
Does it make a difference? Given I'm already doing well in leetcode style questions, should I still take domain? For coding I'm sure I'll do well judging by my recent performance. But in domain, I'm just confident that I know the domain well, not sure what they would ask.
YOE?
