These headlines always read as if it were a sex scandal, but it's just normal business. Am I going to read next that Apple employees have quietly been using Microsoft Word for decades and they've shelled out millions if not billions to Microsoft in total over time? If the default search was Yahoo, I would change phone providers. Especially if I couldn't change the default.
It's an estimate no one knows for sure. Unless of course op is Larry page venting
Yes. This is normal business. It has to default to something. Google doesn’t get free traffic for nothing.
Makes sense given the fact that around 80% of Google’s mobile ad revenue comes from iPhones
Interesting. How did you get 80%?
https://appleinsider.com/articles/12/03/29/google_earns_80_of_its_mobile_revenue_from_ios_just_20_from_android/amp/ Realised this is from 2012. My bad. 2018 articles say that 50% comes from iOS. (As per this article - https://dazeinfo.com/2018/10/01/apple-google-fee-iphone-search-engine/amp/)
What’s the question?
