In brief, aiming for L6 but likely will get L5 offer. In the past, turned down L5 and L4 oral offer. Before that got no offer around 7 years ago. Google recruiter hints me that I interviewed so many times and I can't just keep re-interviewing and walk away. In the future no recruiter might not want to work with me and will need additional approval to bring me back to interview panel ( due to many trials or turning downs ). Though I think it is bs, I still respond it politely. Looking forward to comments. Reason of the turning down is because there is no way Google can match my current comp with L5. I am willing to take somewhat paycut if they offered L6, but it didn't happen and unlikely it will happen this time. I didn't get formal offer in paper last time . I am seeking suggestions to get formal written offer this time or just save some time for it. Current TC: > 660K. Cash 210(+20% bonus), rest RSUs.
Where do you work currently. Why r u switch with such a killer comp
Do not want to disclose where I am. Felt pretty bored in current company. I was lucky and most of TC are due to stock appreciation. You can consider it is sort of inflated TC like Amazonian in their third/forth year.
Tell them upfront then. Stop wasting their time
Why are you so obsessed with Google? Or was this just a really long route to a humblebrag?
And ours with fake post
Might not be bs. They can see your past interviews, so if you literally always get the offer and then walk away, recruiters can see that in your candidate profile. Whether or not recruiters will want to work with you is up to their discretion, but if I was one, I would definitely take the fact that you always turn down the offer into consideration.
I wouldn’t even answer or tell him why.
Thanks. Fair enough.
Doesn't sound real, probably a threat to pressure you to accept
He might not get L6 but his trolling is over L9000.
Are your RSU paper money ?? Have you looked at what happened to Uber/Lyft at IPO. If you are at a small company, titles are inflated. If Google offers u L5, they value you at L5.
Why don't you talk about your compensation expectation before scheduling interviews considering every time you walked away because of that?
In the beginning of every interview ( at least with Google ), the recruiter asked my current comp, my expectation, and so on. I did mention that and I did mention that it is out of L5 band too.
weird flex but ok
Clem?
