Google announced Monday that an annual analysis found it had paid men less than women in some positions. Some male software engineers received less discretionary funds than women, the tech giant said. They were among the 10,677 employees who received $9.7 million in additional compensation. Google is currently facing a class-action lawsuit that claims it denied women career opportunities and paid men more. The company said it’s also reviewing other employment practices to make sure they’re “fair and equitable for all employees.” I just saw this on the wire. What do you guys think about this?
Just because it underpaid for "some positions" does not mean pay is fair and balanced. "Some" generally means more than one, but less than half.
I'm underpaid after seeing all the blind TC talks...
I'm sure they still make more than me

Choose two random groups of people, compare their TC. Guess what, one will usually be higher than the other...
What a surprise!
This is bound to happen when TC is disconnected from the title as much as it tends to be in tech. Make TC strongly corelate with titles and the question why X is paid more than Y becomes moot: the answer will be simple "because X has a higher title". Idiot employers bring this shit on themselves by not following the simple formula of "higher title - higher TC". But, of course, this policy will make nopotism and favoritism much more exposed (because, unlike TC, titles are not secret).
Timely analysis and awfully open about the result...almost seems like they wanted to produce a result counter to the lawsuit 🤔
