After Google pored over its payroll to analyze its gender gap, it came to a surprising conclusion: it was underpaying men.
The results led to Google paying out $9.7 million in additional compensation to 10,677 people — about $900 each less on men.
Now I am happy.
- Google blinderssI don’t think this necessary means good thing. It could be due to they keep women at a level longer. There is no real limit in a level’s cap pay. This means the women could continue to get annual raise while staying at the same level, whereas the men move on to the next level
- Google is a hypocritical company that doesn’t know the basic definition of what equity means. They tried to overcompensate for a problem that never existed (wage equity), and instead created the very same problem they were trying to solve. This is peak idiocy.
- Google vOw81Incorrect. That heading is clickbait. One specific level had some men being paid less. And it was found and corrected. Overall, there still may be a big problem with women being under leveled. https://www.wired.com/story/men-google-paid-less-than-women-not-really/
