I got an offer from Google, The base salary is 20% lower than what i am making today. The TC over 4 years seems to be almost the same. What would you do?
I would stick to ebay if thats the case
Stay with eBay why move on if it does not benefit you?
Go to Google. The eBay stock is only going in one direction.
Ask for more, usually first offer is minimum default offer
SRE Manager? Did you try negotiating? That's a tough role to fill, especially for Google with the bar they have for engineering talent. After working there previously myself and getting to know one of the recruiters that hires for SRE roles, the struggle is real. I'd play hardball. Worst case scenario, they'll hit you up in a year to see if you'll interview again. People that reject their offers have a target on them for the rest of their careers.
Thank you for your advice
Agree with theneedfull. Better chance of growth and upward momentum with opportunities to learn and grow.
Ebay is paying u good
Not sure I'd take a big base pay cut.. Id only make the move if I was fairly sure I'd like the new role better, work life balance included
