Googlers, do you consider the pixel 2 line-up a success?

I know, in comparison to iPhone X sales, pixel 2 has far fewer sale/activation. However that doesn't mean much since no one expected the pixel line up to catch up to Apple this quickly any way.

Sales & Activation numbers are relative based on expectations from product & marketing. For example, in it's first year of launch, Chrome browser had an internal target of 2% market share (based on conversations with my Google buddies, may not be fully accurate though).

So my question to Googlers: relative to your internal expectations, do you consider pixel 2 line up of phones a success?

(P.S. using the Pixel 2 XL & loving it 😊)

Pixel 2 line up sucks in terms of performance per dollar. Make some camera improvements over the Nexus lineup, and double the price. Okay!

There are better Android devices out there.

Such as the Razer Phone and the OnePlus 5T. Both buttery smooth. OnePlus 5T comes out ahead of the Pixel 2 XL in many areas.

Neither of them have stellar cameras though. However, if I'm *that* particular about photography, I'll buy a dedicated point and shoot that none of the phones can match anyway.

I’ll buy an expensive point and shoot camera that I carry everywhere every time

Highly hypothetical if you need to use the camera with apps all the time. SLR, Lightroom, and upload to Dropbox only takes minute if you want to have that pissing contest 😂👍

I guess from what I hear, in that regard, the Pixel has good camera startup time etc. Reliability more important to me for everyday use than absolute picture quality.

From what I’ve seen the pixel 2 is a better camera than the iPhone X. I think it’s the best camera in a phone.

I wish google would polish some of the glaring stuff (messaging, cheaping out on Bluetooth or screens, fixing bugs) to be as good as an iPhone. iOS is so stale but the A processors, iMessage and touch latency/typing experience are so good.

Not a success until it can scale to at least some meaningful segment of users.

As an iPhone X user, the Pixel 2 actually looks like a pretty cool phone. Would be unfortunate for it to not hit sales numbers.

Well there is a backlog. Do you think its way below expectations? :-)

Backlog could be purely because of supply chain constraints, not necessarily demand/sales/activation alone
