I am not sure if it is a lucky or unlucky thing. Long story to be short, was notified by Linkedin recruiter they decide not to move forward after phone screen. I understand that interview is full of luck. The people you meet. The questions they pick. How you behavior during that day. etc. Sometimes I did terribly which I absolutely know why I was rejected. But I have only failed one coding phone interview. ( Well, now two ). Note: I passed their phone screen ( two one-hour panel ) before. Anyway, I wish Linkedin the best. I will definitely pass it next time. Edit: YOE: 17y TC: 500k My Google L5 Offer: Base 200k, Equality 1M, Sign-on 50k
Jesus Christ 500k
Interview are really subjectives. That’s why it is customary to allow people to reapply for other jobs in the same company.
Interview is similar as dating, you date multiple people at same time, some like you, some don’t, it’s all luck.
YOE? Congrats any way!
L5 with 500K Damn
2.5x my L5 offer lol
You got offered 200k as L5?
176k all-in for L5, couldn't negotiate because it expired in 4 days
So what's the point of this post?
What were the interviews like? The usual Leetcode and system design rounds? I wonder if people at this level still need to leetcode?
Now that you're L5 in Google and going to conduct a lot of interviews, how will you use this Gyan as interviewer. Or will you be a typical Google interviewer with a chip on the shoulder
Linkedin is known to require all candidates to behavior well during interviews. Their equality is much lower too, so I wouldn't worry about it.
That's some really good equity. Initial offer or negotiate d?
Initial w/o negotiation. I think it it's nearly the top of L5's band.
Is it because you completely crush the interview? Rarely heard an unnegotiated package this high.
