Got hired at Google at L6 - but my RSU is super low
13 YOE Sales engineering (customer engineer). I’m quite happy with the base (270k) and bonus (30%). But I only got 100k RSU. I’m not in SWE, I’m in sales, but seeing the RSU amount for L6 here on teamblind I feel a bit screwed lol. Im happy to be working for Google and super grateful (hell im a high school dropout autodidact who at 19 got deported from South Africa lol). I guess I’ll actually need to save money for a deposit and buy a house the traditional way! This is my first FANG experience and my first time ever having stock as part of compensation.
You can’t just compare different ladders like that.
270 base is ridiculous

Your tcomp base+ salary compensate for the rsu Technical L6 220 + 20% = 260 Yours Sales L6 270 + 30% = 350 350-260 = 90k 90k*4 = 360k equivalent rsu over 4 years 360k+100k = 460k grant for technical roles..... Your offer is good the structure is different Other way to compare is by looking at your TC 375k
