LOL! Probably they already hired someone else and just wanted to have the phone screen as a courtesy... or probably just a way to get certified on some sort of govermental program... But WTH Apple! Do a better job at covering your tracks! EDIT: The phone screen was not cut short, we did the full hour. The interview was from 12 to 1, the email was sent at 12:05
May be you bad
What did you say during the interview?
5 mins? That's unprecedented. Be honest, what did you say or not say that made them go hard stop? Apple has nearly 1,000 positions open and their recruiting team is great at repurposing people to other roles.
It is not that they cut the interview short... we did the whole hour, but got the rejection email before the interview finished
You got lucky, 2 previous phone screens didn't even produce a rejection.
Sometimes systems glitch you know. Most likely its an automated message. I had a false rejection email before and the hiring manager cleared it up after
Yeah, that’s a possible explanation
The recruiter probably missed his Uber or was surcharged.
LOL! Hopefully is just that and not another Uber horror story
Wtf, thats really shitty but could be an application management mistake.
Did you verify that rejection was for you?
Yep
I was actually thinking of other way around. Say I set up an onsite, they covered travel/lodging and all, then I got an offer that I really like, should I cancel everything with them? I don’t want to waste both of us time, hope they have corporate cancellation policy with that travel agency.
Oh yeah, I am not pissed, just sharing the weirdness
Go and see if they can make you a better offer

TESLA UP 14% AFTER HOURS 🎉🎉🎉🎉
This would be appalling if it weren’t so hilarious, were you on call with your interviewer when it happened?
Yep, I saw the email dated at 12:05 when my interview started at 12
That’s 3 minutes to evaluate your performance, 1 minute to write up feedback and 1 minute for recruiter to send a rejection email 🤔 Not impossible.
