Grab gave me an offer (after interviews... as usual) but when it came to an official agreement, it did not included all promises (sign in, bonus, equity). They simply did not wanted to write it down to official document. So obviously I do not work there

      1) i have passed interview process
      2) got an email with salary, bonus, sign in bonus, equity...
      3) i have accepted the offer
      4) sent me an official offer to sign. The official one had only salary. No bonus, no relocation, no equity, no sing in bonus
      5) i have asked to add them to the official document
      6) they did not wanted to. But they have added just a section about bonus. But it was only not to tell colleagues if they give me a bonus

About 10% attrition in the past 6-7 months. Lots of late night meetings with Singapore. Singapore team treats Seattle office as an offshore team so only get bug fixes and tiny features.

Sure place your future in the hands of anonymous strangers.

Some of which (statistically speaking) are serial killers

But hey, enjoy the new job and the sterile hot-mess that is Seattle....

  • You have Uber and Lyft with pretty sizeable engineering offices in Seattle. Why would you join Grab? They don't even operate in the US nor have plans to do so.

Grab is more interesting than Lyft and more competitive too. If I were from Southeast Asia, I’d definitely consider working for them over Lyft (but not Uber).

Plus, once the SoftBank deal is over, it’s likely that Uber will acquire Grab in a cash+stock deal.

Why would Grab be more interesting?

They are actually innovating with new features relative to Uber. Lyft is just copying Uber. They also have a lot more hustle relative to Lyft.

If you want a referral at Uber and you’re an engineer, just DM me with more details about your background and experience and what type of work you’re looking to do.

Spammed me many times on LinkedIn. I said plz dont spam if you cant afford. They said they are well funded. So I agreed to talk to them. I had to explain what I do to a middle school drop out HR girl. She is not so convinced that what I do is challenging or difficult enough for Grab, i.e not many cool UI features. Its a disaster to talk sense to people with such low level IQ and knowledge. Thats the kind of people Grab understands and hires ...

they turned out to be very cheap even with their paper money. And they compare themselves to Google and Facebook, uber is barely their match, not to mention lyft. Felt very insulted.

They are spamming on LinkedIn. Dont waste your time.
