Hi everyone, I’m set to graduate in June, however, I may need to retake a class online over the fall. When I go into interviews, should I let them know I’m graduating in June (since I’ll just be taking 1 online class in the fall), or should I tell them that I’m graduating after the fall?
Depends on the class.
100-level “diversity” course
All cs and math are done
Since you are available to work full time after June, tell that date. Companies don't care when you graduate, they care when you are available to work. Since most people are available after graduation, they ask that date.
Does the offer letter say it is contingent on graduation? If it does, this may be a problem as they may actually verify.
I don’t have any offers yet, just interviews.
Then just tell the recruiter both dates. They may or may not care when you get your diploma.
Stick by what you put on your resume for the interviews, they probably wont ask. Also, it takes an average of 3 months to deal with HR and background check BS so you may ask for a later start date. I started my job in June but actually graduated in August. Mine was Masters Degree though and I applied with Bachelor's so may be different situations
If you are Citizen then you do not need to tell them unless they ask. If you are non citizen better tell them and say that you will apply cpt.
They will be doing background checks to verify education/employment history.
Just put "expected" for June, feign ignorance. But big companies do thorough background check on education
Have you taken cpt
