I am looking to get some fitness tips from people here. I used to be very slim three years ago and gained like 20 pounds since(Does not show)! Not happy with that and I hate going to the gym. I have like zero motivation and let myself go a bit. I think I can reel in and lose the weight but I get absorbed in work and leave after 7 tired and hungry! How do I turn this slump around? Also the reason I ask here is because everyone here has some perspective of how to manage fitness and a career.
Just go to classes! Like spin, hot yoga, Pilates and things like that. I mean, never been to any such classes myself but that seems to be the thing women do around here. 🤷♂️ I actually have a couple dude friends who used to go too. They didn’t meet anyone there but genuinely enjoyed the exercise and classes lol.
Yeah I heard high intensity workout is good for you
Yeah just take it slow, there’s this too — https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/spin-class-injury-risks-muscle-cycling-kidney-failure-rhabdomyolysis-a8395366.html
Find a gym otw to work, and build a habit at any cost. Maybe use mental tricks like atomichabits.com/cheatsheet If you need to start with something easier, build a habit around same time everyday just doing calisthenics. There are lots of good weight loss ones. Find a accountability partner, ask a friend to call in everyday or exercise with someone on the phone.
That is a good idea 💡! Thanks
I was thinking of trying ClassPass
Gym is mostly to build body. Weight loss is all about calorie intake. Just do a calorie deficit diet. Having less calories than what you require to run your body => the more it'll use the body fat to compensate. eventually you'll reach a saturation point based on your daily routine. After that you can go to gym to get into shape (muscles)
I started to consume less than 1000 calories a day these days and the allowed calories for me is 1400 to maintain weight! I think my diet has been erratic for the last few months
400 calories deficit is probably unmaintainable. You should try 200 maybe. Otherwise you'll lose interest soon, give up and end up eating more.
Get a peloton bike.
Hike during weekend.
Check out BBG routines by Kayla Itsines. Only 30 mins every other day and I managed to get flat abs after 3 months. You can do it at home.
I did buy the sweat app from the App Store and I liked the app but mostly if left to me I feel I am not good pushing myself.
You don't need motivation. You need discipline.
Yes I think I agree ☝️
When u got nobody at home waiting for u, gym is heaven
This.. Most of Guys hits gym coz they got nothing else to do
