Bcoz of that loser obama who rubber stamped every H-1b application and caused a big green card backlog. Real President Trump understood their game and is rejecting these $60k paying consulting companies left and right. #Trump2020

I welcome this change but is coming at slight inconvenience, even for Bay Area product based companies - in form of increased RFEs (though they are being approved 99%). RFE without reason causes 4-5 month delay and hampering business needs

Companies can always continue to look for a domestic worker or raise wages to hire talent sooner.

Right thing to do.

Seeing a lot of h1b / l1 denials . This news article is only half true in my opinion. The real denials happen during renewal and at the Port of entry. The current denial rate of these non immigrant temporary visas are much higher than previous years. And not just consultants , even product based hi tech companies are affected. I am the manager and have been one in my previous company as well. At both of these places I am scared of hiring h1bs just because they r temporary and not worth investing in them.

H1Bs get stopped at port of entry even when they got granted a visa?! That’s brutal.

Juniper JunWarrior Nov 9, 2019

Yep. Someone in my adjacent team went through this.

Oracle aimlds Nov 9, 2019

Great step based on what I see and hear everyday I think the denial rates for these consulting companies should be 95% and more and not just 46% as of now

I am on H1B and think Trump has every right protect American workforce if there is a n abuse. Desi companies abused the system left and right and genuine folks are suffering. Indians themselves dont like if Bangladeshi or Nepali take jobs for less money.

Establishment politicians will never do a damn thing about H1B corruption and abuse by these consulting companies. Same thing can be said to China trade. Voting for an outsider was best vote I never cast.
