We're looking at bringing in someone on an existing H1-B. HR quoted an absurd amount for the transfer of the visa. Looking for a sanity check on what it actually costs. This is someone we've been wanting to get for a while and finally have a suitable open position.
Depending on the firm or even just a lawyer you hire its anywhere between 5k to 20k. Could also add green card cost depending on situation.
In between $5k-8k
$2250 for H1b + $1250 for premium + lawyer fees. Most companies have fulltime lawyers, so there should be no add on, otherwise they may charge $1K - $3K.
