H1-b transfer for MSEE working in CS fields

I know that a lot of PMs are finding it hard to transfer their H-1b visa because that speciality occupation requires MBA and folks with MS or related fields are being rejected unfortunately ... I have a masters degree in Electrical Engineering. Will it be difficult for me to transfer to pure App companies like yelp, twilio, instacart, Pinterest, etc (or rather in to pure app roles) as oppose to system/networking roles in big companies like FAANG? Just some background: My courses in grad school include a mix of programming, OS, networking and security. Appreciate any advice. I have multiple offers and I’m trying to decide which one to go for. Thank you.

As if they teach something out of the world in MBA. I think if a good lawyer files it, you should be fine

Unfortunately, this is the current state of affairs :(

Accept whichever you like most but join them after H1b approval only or accept multiple and start multiple H1b petitions.

For sure 👍

Similar profile as yours, accepted offer at FAng. Got RFE, lawyers are saying it will be fine (due to CS coursework in masters). Filing a response sometime this week (6 weeks after original RFE) . So fingers crossed :) ... I'll update once I know more or have a response.

Thanks for sharing. Was it originally filed with PP? If you don’t mind sharing what document did you need to collect for rfe and does it typically take 6 week to gather all that info? I might get a head start on that front... thanks and good luck :)

Yes original in PP. it depends on the RFE you get, for me specifically it seemed to be focused on my EE masters degree. So lawyers tried to get a detailed course description from me, everything else was done by lawyers. They Also go my undergraduate degree evaluated. I think they were slow due to taking time to receive the hard copy and Labor Day weekend etc.. 3 weeks to respond would be more normal. There's a bunch of RFE posts in the last few months but no updates on most of them, not sure if all those folks got approved or not :(

Search for “H1B Transfer petition denied as PM”

It requires some skilled lawyers. Regardless of it being a CS or EE degree, they need to map coursework to job duties (ridiculous if you ask me). Cisco lawyers have become fairly good at this. Then keep fingers crossed that done nuthead doesn't receive your application. Do not quit until you get an approval.
