H1B rejected due to home ownership
My friend’s visa got rejected in Mumbai - they said you are trying to be permanent there. You have H1B which is meant to be temporary work permit and you have bought house and trying to settle there. 😲

This does not seem correct at all. According to the law, you can own a property in United States on H1-B. Where does it say that you can rent only?
Either the consulate officer wasn’t following the law or your friend is hiding something. It is extremely rare to reject an H1B visa

Anyone is allowed to buy a home here - might not be worth the risk though- excuse does not sound legit. Friend might have something else.
