H1b

My company already applied for H1b before me graduating. Now I got offer from better company and I plan to switch to that company. Are there any risks?

I believe if you change before Oct 1, your current company can revoke your H1B, and hence you would have to apply again next year from the new company. However if you stay at the old company till Oct 1 and then switch then you can transfer your H1B and that will be cap free.

What if H1b is selected in lottery and the company doesn’t revoke? Can I go back to opt?

I don’t have concerns about losing the chances this year. The only concern is do I still remain on f1 opt?

No. If don’t revoke h1b and its selected and approved, come October 1, your change of status will automatically take place and you will be on h1b instead of opt. If you keep working on opt, you are in violation and if you are not with the same employer, you are in violation again

I got selected for H1B visa. Can my current employer revoke my H1B visa after I have obtained the Visa from my consulate? I m thinking of joining a startup in the bay area - will it be easy to transfer my H1B visa from a FAANG company to a startup? thanks!
