I saw a lot of topics here related to H1b processing. To be honest, I’m a little bit surprised, is it true that this type of immigration is still legit and approvable? Does it depend on the size of the company? I heard some rumors (maybe they’re not) that if you apply to some role from non-US country, then US employer won’t even consider you.. and otherwise if you do same in US they will talk with you, no problem.. Is it true? Thanks
If a company have strong confidence that a job can qualify as ‘Speciality Occupation’, they will consider you. That said. You need to ace the interviews to get a sponsorship. It roughly cost about 8k just to get the paperwork done.
Not true. H1B is still possible. Citizens of T5 (countries the US has a trade embargo with) countries might run into issues though.
For entry and mid levels, yes. If you don't have work authorization in the US, most likely recruiters won't even look at your resume. If you are in director or principal levels, things might be different.

H1b application starts Apr 1 every year. And if the candidate gets into the lottery (~40% chance?) and gets approved, the earliest start day is Oct 1. Any company hiring H1b candidates without other work authorization have to: 1. Give an offer before Apr 2. File H1b for the candidate and take the risk of not get selected or not approved. 3. Wait 6mo until the candidate can start work. It doesn't make much sense for companies to take this trouble , unless the candidate is exceptional. But if you have other work authorization in us (most commonly OPT for new grad us college students), you can start work right after you get the offer, and apply for H1b while working for the company.
