I accepted an offer from Amazon two weeks and I am currently in the process of getting my H1b transferred. I also have an upcoming travel to India from early Dec till early Jan. I have already uploaded all the immigration documents to the fragomen website. The fragomen lawyer says it will take them 2-2.5 weeks to get the application ready and also said that I need to be present in US when they file the application. Therefore, they said they will wait till after I come back to file the application. This will add another 1.5 month delays to the transfer process which is already taking 3 months. I am afraid the hiring manager might not be willing to wait that long. Can current Amazon employees suggest how can I convince fragomen to expedite the process ? Unfortunately, I cannot avoid the trip.
Don’t go to india. Better to start the process and get the H1B transferred first rather than waiting 1.5 months
Fragomen is the worst. Ask your HR to request expedited processing. You can’t leave the country while an application is pending, regardless. And it’s not worth risking it.
Cancel trip or wait 1.5 months.
I heard as long as you get the receipt you will be fine to travel, isn’t it?
Generally, while a request is open, one wouldn’t want to risk being denied at immigration border.
This shouldn't be a problem if the person has a valid H1B from the current employer and quits only after returning.
Are you planning to join on receipt?
@fuUH13 even am on the same boat. What did you do finally? Can you please advise me on this? Looking for a reply Thanks
Just tell them you know Jeff. Check with your HM directly right. There is nothing that you can do. He should be fine
I did, they asked me who is Jeff ?
