I was interviewed and the recruiter asked about area of my degree and said it would be a problem if my degree is not in CS due to new h1b transfer requirements. Read that there’re rules about it in USCIS (degree should be in accordance with position/company) and with Trump they’re more strict about it. Is it a real issue?
School ?
How could it be? Bunch of coworkers have Electrical Engineering, etc
Yes I've heard those in jobs who don't have a degree from that field are receiving RFEs. How much is this one off instance vs systematic issue? I can't tell.
H1B speciality occupation needs a person to have education in the relevant field of the job. Its been there since ages just that govt was slacking all these years. Trump is just using the existing laws and asking USCIS to implement them in a stricter way. This will stay on from now onwards IMO
Nbd. I don’t have CS bg n got it thru without issues
Technical or management role?
