H4 EAD going to be discontinued?
Obama passed executive order in January 2015 to allow spouses of H1B visa workers with approved I140 to apply for EAD and work. Trump administration is likely going to reverse the decision. My family will be impacted financially by that. And more than that, it’s a blow to my spouse’s career which was just getting started. Anyone in the same boat?
And it was not an executive order.. it went through rule making process.. this seems like a troll.. someone really getting impacted would know at least this much.
There's lot of news going on around that. Not sure which one is true but if push comes to shove, our plan is to sell everything and move back home. Does not make sense for one person to sacrifice their whole career, passion & life because of stupid rules. Seriously, what's the point of money and some luxury if there's no freedom to follow your heart!

Unemployment rate is the least in last 17 years. I highly doubt if the Trump government can prove that H4 EAD is affecting American jobs.

Not just brietbat, some credible people like Murthy and Emily from immigrationgirl also hinted that there was some insider info that a new rule was being drafted. On Nov 17th court rejected the government's request for extension of abeyance on the DHS vs save jobs case. The earlier abeyance ends on 12/31. Current standing of save jobs is weak. Possibilities of court ruling in favor of ead are high. So, the administration may bring a new rule reversing it by then. They may introduce the new rule in rulebook by December. 60 day commenting process follows. All in all, may take by end of February to remove h4 EAD if the rumors are true.
H4 EAD is going to be revoked. It's all over the news. Plus it suits MAGA narrative.
If H4EAD gets revoked, Bay Area liberal industry captains will protest at airports, join lawsuits, and tweet a storm. I don't think the administration would want more of that.
Not really. Only 90k+ eads were giving since inception (numbers are from earlier this year. May have increased by 20-25k). Small unrepresented minority compared to DACA

The problem with H4 EAD is that the recipeient could take the job of a cashier at Safeway. This needs to be fixed.
Or start a business which can create multiple cashier like jobs.
Right.. the job which would otherwise be done by illegal mexicans or the dependents of non immigrant visa holders like L1. While the same job being done by “GC in waiting” folks seem so wrong.
