First of all you need to feel privileged that you are getting an opportunity to obtain an H4-EAD and make more $$$ and all you are worried is a measly $440, heights of entitlement.
It will take at least 6 months to reverse the rule. Moreover I feel they won’t cancel the existing EADs in one shot...it would be something like no more extensions and you can work until it’s valid.
Planning for one shot, but companies will focus on law suit mostly on one shot removal instead actual removal. This is strategy they following.
I'm guessing they'll use the same phase out strategy as they did for DACA. Existing + pending ones will be considered valid. Read this (skip directly to the table): https://www.uscis.gov/daca2017
Yeah, they wouldn’t kill it immediately. Traditionally they have been doing it for other policies in the past.
Will a lawsuit slow it down? My wife’s EAD expires in Jan 2020 and I can only apply for extension in July 2019
Don’t worry I think you will get your EAD. I applied recently for wife. We got it in 2 months. There is still time for the law to get passed
Wife’s wife? Appreciate your progressiveness.
You meant regulation. Regulations are different from laws.
H4 EAD would have been dead April 2017. Thanks to intervention from 2 people, doj couldn't settle out of court with save jobs. https://www.prweb.com/releases/2017/03/prweb14127315.htm Check this out. These are the same folks who are spearheading hr392 (Immigration voice). If you are a beneficiary of h4 EAD or stuck in backlog, don't hesitate to donate to them.
If they cancel, they should return the fee mostly. But I don’t think it is cancelled as of now. You may scrape through before they remove it.
