That said, we’re opted to not move forward at this time. At Amazon, we interview for two things. 1) To see if you’re a fit for Amazon – which everyone agreed you certainly are 2) To see if you’re a fit for the role – which after a lot of discussion we did not feel this would be the best fit for you. All of that said, we would love to consider you for roles in the future. Is this something you would be open to?
It’s a “good” rejection. You should say yes.
They feel you are suited for a different role in the company, a different one from the one you applied for. You should ask them what happens if you Yes or what it means to say No to get a much clearer answer from them. You don’t have to give an answer before you completely understand what it means
I would say yes
Ask what roles they think you might be a good fit for and then apply to some of those. You can apply immediately.
Most effective recruiters will find other potential roles for you without you having to apply again. Once you're in the recruiting system it's pretty common to be put forward for other opportunities.
is this a trick question? it means you were rejected
It means you are recycled. Not a good fit for the role you applied to but a fit for amazon in general. They might consider you for openings at lower levels or similar teams
So will it be another interview process how long I have to wait or can I apply immediately
It really depends. Sometimes the HR shares your profile with other recruiters and they reach out if interested. Sometimes you don’t hear back. It all depends on the HR
