I just finished my on-site at HRT and I think it went well, I'd like to know what happens next: - when should I expect to hear back? - what's coming next (assuming positive), background check? - what TC range can I expect (interested in average and high end for 10yoe) - how is the compensation structure set up, I saw on blind bonus is over 2y vesting? - HRT perks? 401k? Vacation policy? Etc - weekly hourly working hours in average? - any team you recommend or I should avoid? And any other things I should be aware of before making a jump? (Moved from tech lounge to add tag)
Can't help with TC range at that many YOE for a dev. I would push for a guaranteed minimum bonus for the first year. I personally didn't do that, and regret it. From my understanding, algo eng pays at/above top of market salaries, and at 10YOE you would probably be the most senior person on that team Yeah, the bonus pays out over 8 quarters with 15 upfront. So if I got a 95k bonus a quarter (in my dreams...) It would be paid out like Q1: 15 + (95-15)/8 = 25 Q2: (95-15)/8 = 10 ... Q8: 10 I personally felt played by the bonus structure, because that wasn't made clear to me even as I pushed for more information Working hours vary by team and person. I work like 45 a week and have had positive feedback, but other people on my team work like 60+ hours Vacay is 20 days/year and they used to have an annual company trip to Bermuda/Mexico/etc. IDK if that's gonna continue. Lmk if you have other questions, I prefer public post over DMs, gotta spread the info
Thanks a lot, how many yoe do you have? Are you Algo eng as well?
I'd be singled out if I answer all those lol, but I'm not algo eng. From my understanding, algo eng pays the best out of the SW dev positions (compared to non-fpga core, ops, bizdev)
OP did you get it? Offer tc?
how many interviews did you have during your onsite?
You will be notified in a couple of days. I hate to be the one to say that, many people including myself thought HRT interviews went pretty well, but got a rejection at the end. I don’t think their hiring decision is just based on interview, but good luck anyway.
Yes I'm aware of it, still got a good feeling about the interview but I know it doesn't mean much. Anyway it doesn't hurt to ask questions now to be ready in case of a positive answer!
Same here. Had a pretty great interview. Pair programming went well, finished everything. Interview overran cos we’re chatting a lot after about other aspects of the company. But didn’t get an offer after that.
