What’s peoples experience with bootcamp or fellow co-workers that got hired from bootcamps?

Am looking to move up to SEA and trying to make a career transition to increase my TC and future prospects - ideally at FAANGM

Considering doing one of those bootcamps to help “justify” my credentials and industry swap. I have taken several courses online to learn a variety of languages - SQL (for my current job), python, matlab (from uni), html + plus some online algorithms and structures classes. But no luck since I seemingly have no “BS/no diploma”, rightfully so but still. Either that or I go for a MS in CompSci, because I really want to get into tech.

Currently mechanical engineeer. Top 20 university.

Nobody will hire you. Bootcamps are a joke and recruiters know it.

Several of them post actual verifiable stats, and their recent graduating cohorts...lots of their students end up getting hired at FAANGM, Uber, IBM, SnapChat, Yahoo, etc.

Can you share a link to the statistical figures? I would love to see some concrete numbers to compare against an appropriate control group.

Just a very minor data point as far as amazon goes. I interviewed someone recently and didn’t matter much and he was down right rejected for various reasons. It is a good one for someone like you maybe who is trying to break into (just guessing) tech. Hope this helps. You can project it the way you want to and highlight.

Recruiting sucks in general. Amazon is probably the most responsive in FAANG.
