None of them. It’s also very difficult for engineers to get in...I had a perfect 800 GMAT and got rejected a few years ago.

That’s very sad to know! Do you know the reason? Did you try MIS track or Finance?

Microsoft M💰FT May 21, 2019

It’s the same application regardless of your area of interest. Beyond having a great gmat, you need 2 recommenders to bullshit about how great you are and are going to change the world, a job with the title “manager or analyst” and a top undergrad school are the things that matter.

All companies provide the irs deductible amounts. University does not matter

Nobody will. The only companies that sponsor are MBB and I think a few bulge bracket banks for certain roles. It's a revolving door. Analyst at McKinsey to Harvard MBA and back to Manager at McKinsey The people I know who got accepted outside of that traditional path were a mid grade, female project manager from a big oil field services company and a principle engineer turned GM at a tech company. Those are the exceptions in a sea of the standard stuff. The truth is, being famous for something selective is a big part even if the reality is it wasn't much. Being friends with alumnus executives also helps Honestly, how much value does it bring in the average case?

Why defaq would you go do a MBA when you're a swe at a fang? MBAs wish they could do swe but can't

@Op, when I sat down and did the math, I would end up at least $400k in the hole assuming full-time, not counting time value of money. For arguments sake, let's assume you would be happy to amortize the cost over 10 years. So now, you need a $240k year job instead $200k. True that you could get to ♾ money, but how likely is it? Do you really think you will be a principal at a private equity firm or something?

Maybe not, but is it a high probability that if they did not have the MBA?

A single digits chance is infinitely better than no chance, but how much downside will you take for that risk?
