You have to get promoted under a certain amount of time until you reach E5. If you don't make it, you're out.

FB reorgs a lot, like a lot. So if your team, or project gets scrapped you have to find something else or leave. Had engineering friends that had to reinterview for their jobs with different teams.

Yes if you are under perform
Amazon did few months ago. Microsoft does regularly.
Why though? Finances not right?
It's to clean house of low performers to make up for low hiring bar
