Remember when it was all about feasting and dancing around the fire? When it was about the rebirth of the Sun? Now it's all about some big guy in a red suit and white beard dying on a cross or something.

Christians adopt local traditions to infiltrate cultures. They even turned one of local gods to become devil (it was a god of harvest with horns or something).
The snake in Eden was even an Egyptian god.

Well they needed some way to preempt the blasted, dirty pagans. So they preempted the holiday and pretended Jesus was born on dec 25th even though everyone knows he was born during the lambing season in spring.
If you objectively analyse the story it doesn't even add up or make sense. No disrespect meant, just stating a fact.
